As we reinvent ourselves in this community, the Fellowship of Joy becomes part of a church-planting, ministry-planting enterprise that extends beyond our current influence. It embraces the congregations and ministries that now exist here and envisions more and more. It invites other churches, believers from outside our church, foundations, and people from around the world to participate in the transformation of Fresno and areas beyond. |
The Joseph Factor
Joesph was a godly man exercising his influence over a nation where he was a captive to honor God and bless them physically, materially, and spiritually. He was a servant of God first, and a servant of Pharaoh until the day he died. Nothing he possessed was really his own, not even his own life. Joseph came out of great struggle, but always blossomed where he was. As a result of Joseph always blooming wherever he was planted, famine and starvation were averted, prosperity was assured, his own family was ultimately saved and grew into a great nation, and God’s purposes were forwarded. Eventually, an alien people would come out of Egypt to advance God’s redemptive plan for the whole earth. Joseph was a steward of whatever God enabled to come under his influence. God has placed out church where He wants us. We have a theology of place and space. We must bloom here and our seeds must be scattered to all the earth. He has confirmed over and over that He wants us here, but we must re-envision the future to be most effective. God has a redemptive message to be delivered through us to all people, but we must exercise the stewardship of our influence in order to deliver it.
